As many of you may know, StopAndScrap is a small family-owned business run by myself and my husband Larry. Although we occassionally receive generous help from family members, for the most part it's been the two of us working together to build what we believe can be one of the best scrapbooking e-commerce sites out there. With that said, we have two important announcements to make:
First, we'd like to announce to everybody that the StopAndScrap team will soon have a new "member" - I am now 7 months pregnant with our first child, a boy, and he is due in late August! :) We are extremely excited to finally share this news with all of our wonderful customers and friends!
Related to this, though, was some slightly bad news. I had a bit of an accident this week, falling down in our home. I was forced to spend 24 hours in the hospital for observation, but everything has turned out to be perfectly fine with the baby (although I am a little banged up myself).
Working together on this site without a team of employees is how we are able to offer such great money-saving programs such as StopAndScrap Rewards, free and discounted shipping and our sales and clearance sections. Unlike with most jobs, though, when one of us is unable to perform our duties the business is forced to slow down a bit since everything runs through us. Especially since my fall came right on the heels of our busiest weekend ever (with our 40% off clearance sale), we are now very backed up with shipping. Larry has done an amazing job of shipping dozens of orders a day, but unfortunately he still hasn't been able to keep up with the normal pace that we usually handle together. So we are requesting your patience and understanding this week as we try to get all of the orders out in a timely fashion :) We hope to get caught up by the end of weekend, but just in case we don't please have patience and we will have your order out as soon as possible.
Regarding the future, this will not normally be a huge issue except perhaps during extremely busy weeks such as this one. My husband has been able to keep up with shipping during the times that I've had to step back in the past, so we don't anticipate a problem. We just wanted to let everybody know that this is one of those extremely busy weeks. We also wanted to let you know far in advance that there will be a time in the near future that the baby will decide he's ready to arrive and we'll have to take a short hiatus from the site :) But we'll definitely let everybody know when that time arrives as soon as we can!
